We’ve all sat in Sagamore Bridge traffic for, oh, three hours on a Sunday afternoon. For months, surface repairs shut down lanes in both directions.
Here’s a first-person view from the Army Corps Engineer, via Flickr:
Buried in the caption: “The construction has caused minor delays as only one lane of traffic is allowed in each direction.” Minor. Uh huh.
Well, the work is done — with time to spare before the Memorial Day deadline — and all four lanes are open again. With temps in the 60s and 70s this weekend, I think it’s time to grab a Zipcar and head down to Dennis for shrimp cocktail at Scargo Cafe.
