So, we all like to eat, drink and be social. But what this could look like real time, business-wise, for Boston’s food scene is up for grabs as the topic of a meaty symposium on social networking and Boston foodie culture slated for this coming Monday, May 24th, in Cambridge. It’s called Eat Drink & Be Social and it’s got two parts: a Sunday evening Tweet Up at Restaurant Dante organized by Dialogue and Awareness, Inc., and a symposium the next morning at Technique @ Le Cordon Bleu. Boston dining going global, geo location, video sharing and the like are on the agenda for some pretty plugged-in speakers, among them Jody Adams, Barbara Lynch and Dante DeMagistris, plus the co-founders of FourSquare and FoodSpotting, Aaron Cohen of @eatboston and several staff from Boston media outlets. Tickets are aren’t cheap but the topics look rich, and the last remaining tickets get you into both Sunday’s free Tweet Up (currently sold out as a stand-alone event) and the Monday conference. All the info you need can be found at the Eat, Drink & Be Social site. Dennis Crowley of FourSquare appeared in an article in yesterday’s Globe, where the foodie symposium is mentioned.
No doubt about it. Sharing your food choices with your friends and the world is catching on at lightening speed.
Darn it- shoulda called it Foodapaloooza! great name…
If not for work, I would buy a ticket. Sounds like an interesting event.
I really wish I could attend, but I’ll be away. One of my friends is going, and I’m hoping she’ll post a full recap!
Can’t claim creatorship of that name, Tyson, but regardless of WHAT you call the event, it looks to be great.
Megan, link us to your friend’s recap if she does one. I’ll be reporting back as well.
Dang. Sounds like great speakers too! Will look for the recap for sure.
