To our favorite readers:

It’s time…it’s long overdue.  PRK is finally hitting the WBUR airwaves.  Tomorrow on Radio Boston (barring any wild breaking news), we’ll bring you our first PRK on-air segment between 3 and 4pm.  If you miss the live segment, you can also listen online (plus we’ll link to it right here on our homepage).

But now, dear foodies, is the time for you to tune in and show your support.  Let us know what you want to hear on a PRK segment: interviews with chefs? food policy stories? restaurant reviews? food trends?

Don’t be shy and do be generous with your ideas.  And stay tuned….

Woo hoo! Congrats PRK! It IS about time. How about visiting some farmers’ markets? I’d love to have you up at mine in Newburyport some Sunday.

This is perfect timing, we’re right at the start of the growing season. Making good use of seasonal and local produce (a very different challenge than season-less grocery stores) is a great theme.

I would be interested in hearing something thoughtful (by this I mean more analytic, not relying on press releases) about the multiple reasons/rationalizations Boston and suburban-area supermarkets give for not carrying and/or featuring local produce and other foods (when it’s in season). It seems to me that would mean a huge increase in demand for local food, so I wonder why they’re not trying harder and also if anyone’s pushing them.

Great idea, Margaret. Would you please email us directly (prk@wbur.org) so we can chat? Thx.
