What’s news on what looks to be a warm Monday morning in Boston:
- The 10th congressional race is a dead heat, and the 4th is surprisingly close, according to a Globe poll. Though Democrats poll more favorably, Republican voters are far more enthusiastic. (Globe)
- Gov. Patrick is up 4 on Baker in the Globe poll. “Though today’s findings show a smaller lead for Patrick compared to other recent polling … the governor expanded his cushion compared to the last Globe poll, which last month had the race as a statistical tie.” (ElectionWire)
- The proposed repeal of alcohol tax divides sellers, consumers. “Cracking open the Question 1 debate — whether to repeal the state tax on alcohol store sales — is a little bit like cracking open a six-pack. After a while, the arguments start to run into each other.” (WBUR)
- The Chargers fell to the Patriots by this much. (I’m from San Diego, so this is how I see it.) “The Chargers fumbled three times in the first half Sunday and reached new heights of creativity at giving away a game.” (San Diego Union-Tribune)
- A man killed by a Green Line train was a recent BU grad. “Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor.” (Brookline Patch)
- Rowers set 13 new records on the Charles this weekend. “The Head of the Charles also featured a total of 9,001 rowers this year, nearly 200 more than 2009, as well as 1,920 boats.” (Herald)
- Norton is warning teachers not to “friend” students. “In the hazy realm of cyberspace, one school district is drawing a sharp line.” (Globe) Update: Herald had this first.
